League of Lethal Ladies was formed as a collaborative effort between Women's Shooting Academy CEO/Instructor Vicki Kawelmacher and Gunslinging Housewife Jenny Teague. Both were passionate about shooting and wanted more women to get involved in shooting. Vicki wanted more women to get involved for the personal safety side and Jenny wanted women to get past their fears and learn guns were capable of providing women a fun recreational activity. Their goal was accomplished and in February of 2006, the League came to life.
Members meet up the first Tuesday of the month at a specific location (usually another member's home or a restaurant) where they can discuss shooting, accessories, interesting new safety classes, swap ideas and tell stories of safety, as well as plan shooting events, whether it be as a group or to invite others on individual shoots. The League connects women with like minded women so members can meet new friends to shoot with. League members have gathered for group League shoots at Derby Dam, private shoots with friends, group upland game hunts, as well as meeting up with other shooting associations for their events.
As a group, our goal is to promote the importance of personal safety, our 2nd Amendment rights, and the joy of shooting with our sisters. Every woman is welcome! Whether you're new to shooting or have been doing it for years, no woman will be turned down.
There are no yearly membership fees as this is a casual group of ladies who bring their own supplies and clean up after themselves whenever they shoot. We do stress safety and require you have a working knowledge of basic gun safety as well as how to handle your firearm at any event. If you are interested in signing up to receive monthly email newsletters/event invites, please send an email request to Jenny Teague or Jennifer Moore. Otherwise, we provide links to shooting clubs and shooting locations in hopes of providing resources for more shooting information.
